World Hearing Day was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) has its vision. Their vision is to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world. World Hearing Day is celebrated on 3rd of March every year across the globe. This year’s theme is “Hearing for life: don’t let hearing loss limit you”.
The reason why this theme is selected is because WHO expresses the key message that timely and effective interventions can ensure that people with hearing loss or disability are able to achieve their full potential. The key message is:
This is the best time for you to start spreading awareness on hearing health. With our smartphone in hand, it’s easy to let people know why hearing health is crucial. Early intervention and treatment options can help children and adults with hearing loss can lead full and fulfilling lives. Share this post or any news/articles about World Hearing Day to your friends and family, this message could help those who are in need for hearing solutions.
Remember to be active in the community. Whether it is school, university or working environment, you can always spread awareness. The idea here is to involve everyone of every age in cooperative initiatives that promote hearing health. We can always find ways to work together on hearing healthcare, prevention and early diagnosis of hearing and communication disorders, auditory rehabilitation, and social inclusion of hearing-impaired children.
On this World Hearing Day 2020, let’s make a resolution to always look out for our hearing health. We must raise awareness on how to prevent deafness, hearing loss and promote hearing care across the world.
